OUR FAVORITE MONEY TOOLS + RESOURCES

Below are some of our favorite financial tools, apps, and resources. These are ones we personally use and endorse, and you will likely hear us talk about them on the podcast. Some of the links below are referral or affiliate links, but they don’t cost you anything and might send a little something to the podcast to help us cover our costs. We would never mention a tool or service we don’t ourselves use or believe in, and we’re committed to maintaining an ad-free podcast.

Wealthfront Logo

Wealthfront is the very first investment account I ever had, but these days I love Wealthfront for their “high-yield savings accounts,” aka cash accounts. It’s the perfect place to park your emergency fund or even your checking account, as they now have checking account features. They consistently pay the highest interest rates of any HYSA account I’ve found. You earn a competitive APY on your uninvested cash or can invest in expert-built, automated portfolios of stocks, bonds, and ETFs. We talk about how important it is to park your cash in a high-yield savings account in this episode – The best financial advice no one wants to take.

Our entire family uses visible for our cell phones, including our three teenagers. Their pricing is clear and straightforward, starting at $25 a month for unlimited data, talk, text, and hotspot wireless service. And it’s on the Verizon network. Also, our best tips for saving on all aspects of cell phones are in this podcast episode: 5 cell phone hacks to save you thousands.

Monarch Money

All of the Inside Out Money co-hosts use Monarch Money to track their expenses. It’s the best, and it’s well worth the $99 a year, but you can get 50% off your first year, so start with that awesome deal!  We talk about it a lot on the podcast, but in this episode we share our favorite Monarch Money tips & tricks.

Flat-Fee Hourly Fiduciary Financial Advisors - Nectarine

Nectarine was created by Personal Finance Club, and it’s a directory of Flat-Fee Hourly Fiduciary Financial Advisors. They do not manage your money, sell any products, or earn any commissions. They offer financial advice and charge $175 to $400 per hour, with no strings attached.

M1 is my second favorite high-yield cash savings account, next to Wealthfront.

speechify logo

You might not consider Speechify a financial tool, but it saves me a ton of time, and sometimes time is money. Speechify is the #1-rated text-to-speech app in its category. I use this primarily on my phone to read aloud email newsletters, articles, long emails, long PDFs, and anything I need to consume when I prefer audio over using my eyeballs.

OUR FAVORITE PRODUCTS

These are some products we love enough to tell you about them!

super deodorant

You wouldn’t think a deodorant would make the list, but that’s because you’ve never used Super Deodorant. It’s the best deodorant I’ve ever found. It’s easy to travel with, apply, and, most importantly, it lasts for days. And this is coming from a stinky and sweaty person! They’ve introduced some new products, but my fav is their OG Super Deodorant.

I save the L word for special things, and this toothbrush makes the list. I LOVE this toothbrush. It’s about $100, but well worth every cent, in my opinion. The first time I used it, I felt like I had just gotten back from the dentist. And months later, when I had a dental cleaning, the dentist said my teeth looked amazing and barely had any plaque buildup. And it comes apart easily into 2 pieces for travel, and the battery lasts months before it needs to be recharged. It has special wave-motion tech with 60° oscillation + 66,000 vibrations/min (dentist-inspired) for fast, pro-level cleaning. It’s gentle, thorough, and has an intelligent pressure sensor that alerts and adjusts speed to prevent gum/enamel damage. It even has a Laifen app for personalizing your toothbrush settings.

The Rack is my favorite gym and place to hire a personal trainer in Atlanta. They also do training sessions with high school athletes (and moms!). Jared from The Rack helped me do my first-ever pull-up!
